M&M Chocolate Chip Cookies

This recipe came about because I ran out of chocolate chips in my pantry!


I was craving a chocolate chip cookie and only had 1 cup of chocolate chips left so I mixed in some M&Ms. This often happens to me where I go to bake something and I am missing an ingredient. I would say you can almost always find a substitute for a missing ingredient. In this case, I found M&Ms and made an even better cookie. This cookie recipe is easy to make and you can whip it up in under 25 minutes early in the week to have cookie dough ready in the fridge. You can also freeze the dough into bite-size balls to save for another day. Enjoy these tasty creations!

 

M&M Cookies

Serving Size: 24 cookies

Total Time: 1 hour

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened

  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 3/4 cup brown sugar

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 cup chocolate chips

  • 1 cup M&Ms

Step 1: Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Prepare a baking sheet.


Step 2: Combine flour, baking soda, and salt in a small bowl.


Step 3: Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract in a large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in chips and M&Ms.


Step 4: Drop cookie size pieces about 1 tablespoon onto greased baking sheets. Bake for 11-13 minutes.
