Who knew adding a little bit of Bourbon in blondies would taste so good? These blondies are so rich and so good. They are addicting to eat!
Blondies are great to bring a dinner party as a dessert because they are easy to serve and people love eating them. They are easier to make than cookies because all you have to do is put the batter in a baking dish and bake! The batter does not require any time in the fridge. I changed the baking dish I use depending on the number of people I am making these blondies for. This smaller 8x4 serving dish is a perfect size for a smaller gathering.
Blondies are one of my favorite desserts to make and I think we should all be baking blondies more often. They have a soft but chewy texture with a strong butterscotch flavor. You don't even need that many ingredients to whip up this delicious batch of blondies. Sometimes I even make these late after work when I am craving a salty-sweet warm dessert.
Boozey Blondies
I love experimenting with blondies because you can throw different mix-ins into the batter or try out different flavor combinations. I recently acquired a ton of liquor for my liquor cabinet and I have been playing around with making different mixed drinks with Bourbon. As I was thinking about different recipes, I thought why not add some Bourbon in my blondies. It turned out so good. I am obsessed. The brown butter in the blondies with the bourbon gives off a rich decadent toffee flavor. It is the perfect flavor combination.
A few tips:
Baking dish - if you are going to change the size of the baking dish the blondies will take less or more time. In a smaller more deep dish the blondies will take about 1 hour or more to cook whereas in a thinner and larger dish the blondies will take about 25 minutes.
The bourbon - I used bullet bourbon but you can use any bourbon for these blondies. I add a small amount of bourbon however if you are looking for a stronger flavor you can add more. These blondies do taste great without the bourbon if you want to leave the alcohol out altogether.
Sea salt - as a final touch I added sea salt on top of the blondies which gives an extra salty to sweetness flavor in every bite. I love the combination of salty and sweet paired together and on blondies it sea salt tastes amazing.
Parchment paper - you can line the baking dish with parchment paper if you want to easily remove the whole blondie out of the baking pan. I like to keep my blondies in the baking dish to serve because it comes out looking so good!
